About us

Adaugeo (Uh-dodge-ee-oh): v. To make greater, increase, augment, magnify.

We desire to magnify the Lord through sustainable, organic farming practices and good health.

It all started when...

We started with absolutely no experience farming. It happened one night that I read another disturbing article to Travis about the dangers of our conventional food. I was so frustrated! How were we supposed to stay healthy if we couldn’t get nutrients from our food? Even more, how were were supposed to be healthy if our food put toxins in our bodies?  “Lord, do something!” I pleaded.  Just like Matthew West’s song, we felt like God was saying to us, “I did.  I created you.”  There was a small tug at our hearts to raise food ourselves. Travis and I started praying about it. We definitely felt the call to farm organically.  The journey began.

We know we aren’t the first or only family to farm organically.  As we get involved we have found tons of healthy eating and farming organizations.  We aren't alone and it's a growing movement.

The more we learn, the more we see how God made everything to work together perfectly.  We’ll have you out sometime and show you what we mean.  Until then, we praise God for this adventure and we pray we get to share it with you.

Meet the Family…

Travis

I am the visionary and financier. I like and appreciate all the living creatures on the farm that fulfill their purpose, both God-given and Adaugeo-focused. I enjoy each of the seasons that the Lord provides us at the farm. My vehicle on the farm is the skid loader. I can do all sorts of jobs all year long with it. My favorite meal from the farm is the first BLT of the summer, so good.

Kate

My job on the farm is to manage everything - jack of all trades. I take care of all the small animals, the garden, and make sure all the things get done. My favorite animals is…I love all the animals. I can’t pick one favorite. Sarge makes me give him a massage every morning on the way to the barn. Taco loves us so much that he darts into the house every chance he gets. All the goats like to keep me company when I go on walks with Sarge. Vanna lets me brush and beautify her throughout the summer. And the chickens give me eggs. How could I pick just one? My favorite thing about the farm is the peace it brings. Every time I drive along the driveway my blood pressure decreases. My vehicle is the CanAm. Every one of my summer chores is done with it. My favorite meal anything packed with nutrients.

Taite

I’m in charge (with Lincoln) of the cows. Move ‘em, feed ‘em, stick ‘em in a stew. My favorite animal is the occasional wild Lincoln I find roaming around the pasture. I really enjoy the distance between us and the nearest neighbor. Not that I hate people, I just enjoy privacy. My favorite cut of meat is whatever is dry aging in the fridge.

Calla

My jobs include hand washing the dishes, working in the garden, and mowing the lawn. My little baby is my Sarge, our dog. I love him <3! In the summer I enjoy sitting in a hammock and reading a book. It is so peaceful. My vehicle is probably the lawn mower. I’m really the main person who uses it.

Lincoln

I’m in charge of the cows (with Taite). They’re… pretty good. My favorite animal is the one in the freezer and maybe Georgia the GOAT. Mostly because she likes to eat animal crackers and so we occasionally steal them from her. My vehicle is the 4-wheeler. We use it daily from May through November to set up new paddock lines to move the cows. I really enjoy having a lot of land. It makes the parties exceptional. And I’m a huge extrovert so…

Parker

My job is taking out the trash, working in the garden, and I will have to do the cows (when Taite is gone ). My favorite animals are the cats, mostly Taco ( I would say Sarge, but Calla already said him ). My favorite part about living on the farm is all the space so I can ride my bike around the driveway.  My vehicle is the Polaris Ranger. I use it to bring the trash to the end of our 1/2-mile-long driveway, to get the mail, and to take my friends for a ride.
